Kim

Kim Bamford is a highly skilled dance professional with a Professional Dancers Teaching Diploma (PDTD) from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and certification as an AcrobaticArts teacher. She is also trained in Tap and Jazz.

Kim founded Teknik Dance Academy, which she successfully ran until its closure in 2023. She now teaches Silver Swans Ballet classes for over-55s in Hinckley and Lutterworth. Her teaching experience spans prestigious institutions like the Arabesque School of Dance, Chater Dance Academy, Midlands Gymnastics Academy, and Kings International Ballet Academy, where she taught RAD and Technical Jazz.

Currently, Kim works with Saga Cruises as an enrichment instructor, teaching Silver Swans ballet classes onboard, providing older adults with a unique opportunity to stay active while cruising. Her expertise in dance and passion for working with older adults create a supportive and enjoyable environment for participants.

Alongside her dance career, Kim has worked as an Account Assistant with Leonardo Hotels since 2021, supporting financial operations and administrative functions.

Kim’s professional performance experience includes appearances on BBC 1’s Tess of the d'Urbervilles and tours across the UK and Europe with the musical On Eagles Wing. She also worked for First Family, the largest pantomime company in the UK, starting as Dance Captain and understudy, and later advancing to Assistant Choreographer and audition panel member.

Kim's extensive career in the cruise industry includes roles with Thomson Cruises, Jean Ann Ryan Productions for Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), PGT on Princess Cruises, and CBG in Las Vegas. She performed with NYK and M.S. Asuka II in Japan and spent time with Hirenotes, completing two world cruises aboard the M.V. Van Gogh and Travelscope. Her final role at Saga Cruises involved working as Assistant to Gail Davies at CBG and taking on Dance Captain, Stager, and Assistant Choreographer roles, while performing as the lead female adage dancer and in pas de deux.
